May 2012 – The chickens have arrived-four baby chicks, Dorothy, Sophia, Blanche, and Rose. We’re keeping them snuggled at home in San Francisco until they’re ready for their new home at the winery, near the garden. The first garden row has been planted.
April 2012 -
Galvan Family Cellars was excited to be the first winery invited to Mankas Tapas and Steakhouse Restaurant for their Wine Maker dinner series. Chef David Pajarillo created a stellar menu that paired perfectly with several of our current releases.
Galvan Family Cellars joined the Suisun Passport Weekend. Hundreds of visitors, regulars and newcomers, sampled our new releases. Favorite Green Valley restaurant Sticky Rice shared their super addictive won tons with the fun crowd.
February 2012 – Galvan Family Cellars celebrated the release of several new wines and shared barrel samples of the 2010 Lovechild with a very large crowd at GV Cellars in Green Valley.
January 2012 – Galvan Family Cellars shared and discussed our wines at the Green Valley Wine Maker’s Dinner, at the Green Valley Country Club, to support the Green Valley Agricultural Conservancy.
January 2012 – Galvan Wine’s project NapaToro, made exclusively for Maya’s Kitchen at Tequilo Museo Mayahuel in downtown Sacramento, receives a nice local write-up for Sacramento’s Dine Downtown Week.
January 2012 – In Cahoots receives Double Gold for the 2009 Lovechild in the 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Glad to hear they love it as much we we all do! Our Galvan Family Cellars 2009 Viejo red blend and 2010 Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc were recognized as well with Silver medals.
December 2011 – We are excited to announce the release of two new wines under a joint label appropriately called In Cahoots, which we created with our friends at GV Cellars. In Cahoots offers two beautiful reds. The 2009 Lovechild is a smooth red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 54%, Zinfandel 28% and Syrah 18%. The 2010 Late Harvest Dolcetto is a port inspired wine and is the perfect post dinner sip. In Cahoots is available from the tasting room at GV Cellars.
August 2011 – We are now available in select Whole Foods Markets in the Bay Area, and we’ve received a wonderful reception to our wines at the Roseville Whole Foods Market. For our loyal Bay Area and Roseville customers, our wine is now closer to your fingertips than ever.
June 2011 - We poured tastes of our current selections to a fun, wine savvy crowd in Sacramento’s midtown this weekend.
May 2011 – We shared our wine with San Francisco’s hands-on art crowd at Pulp: The Paper Medium, hosted by Artpoint and the Museum of Craft and Design, which allowed (and encouraged, with a little wine) guests to work with local artists to create their own art. March 2011 – We unveiled our newest creation, the red blend “NapaToro” crafted exclusively for Maya’s Kitchen in downtown Sacramento, at the fund raising event with Governor Jerry Brown held there March 15th honoring activist Dolores Huerta. Maya’s Kitchen will be open to the public in early April, but we had a chance to sample the amazing cuisine and check out its gorgeous design at this incredible event.




February 2011 – We poured our wine for a fantastic crowd at the Mexican Consulate in San Francisco, at the reception for The Evolution of Mexican Art: From Olmec to Today.

Small Winery Makes Big Impact, December 14, 2010
September 2010-Galvan Family Cellars and the five other wineries of the Hydeaway Winery Collective, in partnership with the Maritime National Park Association, threw a lovely party at the recently renovated Maritime Museum. Amazing crafted wines, gorgeous waterfront setting, and the best paella ever.

July 2010 – Galvan Family Cellars had a wonderful time pouring wine and talking about wine at the wine education and tasting party in beautiful Los Lagos. Special thanks to hosts Bob and Carol Parrish for creating an amazing turnout and offering their gorgeous home for this unique event. The afternoon was a huge success.



June 2010 – Galvan Family Cellars thanks all of our San Francisco Bay Area (and beyond) people for coming aboard the Balclutha ship in San Francisco and partying with us. The inaugural HydeAway Wine Collective event was a huge success and nobody fell overboard!






May 2010 – Galvan Family Cellars receives Silver from the 2010 San Francisco International Wine Competition, for our 2009 Solano County Green Valley Gamay Noir and Gold for our 2008 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
